Vision

The Liberal Youth Foundation aims to strengthen the work of and ties between young liberal activists globally. This support will mainly materialize through, but is not limited to, financial means. The Foundation aims to support young individuals to attend ongoing liberal youth events globally, to eventually set up a network of ‘LYF scholars’ that will strengthen local liberal activities and global engagement. On the longer-term, the Foundation aims to support local events to strengthen liberal youth organizations in countries that are finding it harder to find funding through existing channels.

Foundation

The Liberal Youth Foundation (LYF) was launched during an event at the National Liberal Club in London in December 2013, initiated by former EFLRY/LYMEC activists Sir Graham Watson, Volkmar Kallenbach and Vesa Turtiainen. The Liberal Youth Foundation will render support to young liberals from around the world to participate in international events, particularly for those facing financial obstacles.

During the fall of 2017, a Board for the Foundation was set up, comprising of Pauline Kastermans as President, Sir Graham Watson and Timo Multanen as Vice Presidents, Daniel George as Treasurer and Tone Bjørndal as Board Member. Since then, the board has been working hard to re-launch the Foundation, with the aim of reaching out to as many “ old “ young liberals as possible and to get them involved. Being formally registered as a German non-profit organisation we now need support and action from as many liberal friends around the world as possible. We invite everyone to take part in our exciting journey!
