The last weekend of November, IFLRY held its 44th General Assembly (GA) in Barcelona. LYF was happy to be supporting two participants to attend the event. In this post, we are excited to introduce Emmanuel Nsobila!

Emmanuel, from Ghana, represented the Progressive Youth Movement of Ghana at the GA.

Emmanuel at the IFLRY GA.

What was your motivation to attend the
IFLRY GA?

The General Assembly has always gathered youth leaders and member organizations from all over the world and this create a great opportunity to learn from each other and also network with other youth leaders from around the globe.

This is an exceptional opportunity for horizontal exchange of experience and this was of special relevance to my political goals, because I could learn  a lot and meet new people.

What was the greatest “AHA!” moment for you at the GA?

My greatest “AHA!”-moment was the fringe Populism & Political Debate, because it was more interactive and involving.

When and why did you decide to join the liberal family?

I got involved in politics because I became increasingly aware of the lack of freedom in the world today. I became aware that individuals were not equal before the law, and that according to our system, not everyone was created equal. This was my reason I joined the liberal family in 2012, by joining the Progressive Youth Movement of Ghana, hoping to contribute to creating a more liberal society for all.

What does your ideal world look like / what is your vision for your country?

My ultimate mission is to promote good governance, liberal democracy and apply free market solutions to intricate domestic social problems in Ghana and Africa as a whole. I hope this can help Ghana become great and strong nation.

What could IFLRY members do to help you achieve it?

I believe that IFLRY should organize more educative and training programs for members and members organizations.
